Sarah :: Senior

Every time I drive to church, I pass an incredible field: open with a rusted, old machine in it. Since October, I have been yearning to do a session in that field, with no takers...until Sarah.

As soon as Sarah contacted us to do her college senior shoot, I immediately thought of the rusted machine field. Imagine my delight when Sarah couldn't wait to see it.

Renata and I had a blast shooting Sarah. She is a sweet, spunky, super real woman, a fellow photographer and was up for anything! We braved the rain, no trespassing signs, briars growing out of the ground, and the creepy rusted machine (which ended up being a burnt up Honda Civic!).

Congratulations Sarah!

Caitlin :: Senior

When Caitlin's mom contacted us to do Caitlin's senior pictures, we immediately started brainstorming. Where would we go? What should she wear? What if we suck? We really shouldn't have worried so much because we could not have asked for a more perfect first senior session. Caitlin is absolutely gorgeous, perfectly photogenic and has an infectious giggle to complement her fun personality.

The weather held out and the three of us gallivanted all over downtown Annapolis. Caitlin was a trooper and changed outfits in the car, an alley and random bathrooms. She got asked if she was a teen magazine model. That was fun. :)

There are so many gorgeous shots of Caitlin, I don't know where to begin.

Caitlin, thanks for showing us that senior portraits are our calling (right alongside weddings!). You are beautiful!

Jessica & Brent :: Wedding - Reception

The final chapter of Jess and Brent's wedding - their reception. Renata and I lucked out that our first wedding was during the daytime; we were so grateful for the natural light!

Here are some favorites...

Jess and her dad's dance was so sweet. We won't lie...we may have been a little misty-eyed.

In conclusion, Jessica and Brent were the perfect first wedding. Can't you tell?

Erin & Taylor :: Engagement

As I approached them, I knew immediately that Erin and Taylor were going to be fun. Erin's smile was huge, her face warm, and her eyes (and ring!) sparkled. Taylor was laid back and very much in love with Erin. They sported matching tatoos and sweet personalities. Very fun.

Michelle graciously asked Maria and I to tag along for Erin and Taylor's engagment shoot in downtown Frederick. Not only did I get to capture a great couple, I got to observe Michelle in action! It was a great experience and I couldn't have asked for a better couple.

A few favorites from the day...

Erin is absolutely gorgeous.

I'm second shooting their wedding in May and I can't wait! Thank you Michelle!

Guess who I got to shoot with?!

Last Sunday, I had the privilege (and honor, no less) of shooting an engagement session with one of my wedding photographers, Michelle Rose, and the one and only Maria Vicencio. I nearly peed my pants.

Me and Michelle hard at work :)

Both of these women are super talented. Michelle and her blondes did a beyond fabulous job capturing Drew and my wedding. She is so knowledgable and business savvy...and always has time for a question. I'll be second shooting a wedding this weekend with her, plus another wedding in May - I am so excited to learn from her!

Maria is a fun new friend, a great photographer and one of the nicest people I have ever met (seriously, Michelle and I talked about it on the way home). She is severely talented behind the lens, and don't even get me started on her Photoshop abilities! I met Maria through my ninja-like stalking abilities (see her blog for the story) and she has been such a blessing to me. Pretty much everything I know about lenses and manual shooting has come from Maria. She and her husband Drew are shooting me and my family in a couple of weeks and I can't wait to be one of her clients!

Maria grabbed some shots of me in Starbucks...I was more than excited to be in front of her lens. :)

Michelle and Maria, thank you for humoring a very inquisitive newbie, challenging me with your talent and ideas, and for your friendship. I'm looking forward to hanging out with you both again in May!

P.S. I'll be posting some of my shots of the couple we shot, Erin and Taylor, who were wonderful to be around themselves, a little later this week!

Jessica & Brent :: Wedding - The Ceremony & Couple

Post two of the on-going "Jessica & Brent" series. The ceremony and the couple. These were, hands down, our favorite parts to document. The ceremony was simple and elegant, and the time we got to spend just with them was so sweet.

Here are some favorites.

Yeah!

Bling!

Jessica & Brent :: Wedding - Getting Ready

On Saturday afternoon, Renata and I officially closed our first wedding session! As Brent, Jessica and Jessica's family sat around their living room watching their pictures appear on a big screen, Renata and I proudly glanced at each other. We did it.

We learned so much from this wedding! Jessica and Brent were the perfect first couple. They were so fun and in love, willing to try anything and super encouraging to both of us. Thanks, guys.

To avoid a gigantinormous post full of pictures, I'll be blogging our favorites from their wedding in three separate posts: getting ready, the ceremony and the reception. I know you're ready to see images, so I'll stop talking now. :)

Here are some favorites of Jess before the ceremony.
Note: Images posted are a mixture of both photographers (Renata and Andrea) and are copyrighted.

Dress details.

Jess' mom seeing her for the first time.

Jess was absolutely stunning. Seriously.

Stay tuned for the ceremony and reception!
