Public Service Announcement

Edited: The D40 has been sold!

Here ye, here ye, come one, come all! The deal of a lifetime!

Okay, maybe not a lifetime, but it's still a pretty good one :) Renata is selling the beloved Nikon D40 and 18-55mm lens. This camera is GREAT - if you are interested in breaking into the digital SLR world, this is the camera you want. Check out the specs here.

This camera is only 5 months old, in great condition and will come with all the original packaging, including camera strap, battery and charger. Renata is also kicking in the 18-55mm lens which is, again, a great lens to break into digital SLR.

The D40 retails around $600. Renata is selling the camera and lens for $400.

We can both attest proudly to our love and affection for this camera as it has served us both very well.

Have no fear...

I made it through my first wedding! Based on the fact that the hits on this blog have doubled in the past two days, I am guessing you guys are realllly curious to find out how it went?

Well, I'm here. :) And pictures are coming. But to whet your appetite...here is one of my favorites so far: Jess seeing herself in her dress for the first time. (P.S. Jess was absolutely stunning, as you will see.)

Believe me, more is coming. :)

The moment of truth

Tomorrow. It's tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day I shoot my first wedding.

I wanted to write today so I will remember this feeling - this mixture of excitement, absolute terror, determination and doubt. Am I being dramatic? Absolutely. Am I being honest? Absolutely.

I think I am prepared. I have back ups of just about everything. Renata and I put together a little wedding day kit of "just in case" items. Since we have both been brides, we know what can go awry and some little things to keep on hand. I bought a watch. I actually read some of my camera manual. I made Drew pose endlessly while I tried to figure out settings.

I am t-minus 3 hours away from attending Jess and Brent's rehearsal. Calm down, Andrea. You can do this. You will totally rock it. Or at least you will survive it. Thanks, self.

Jessica & Brent :: Engagement

Jessica and Brent are a very special couple to me. Not only are they friends, but they are my first wedding clients (I still can't believe you asked me, Jess) and goodness knows how it feels to be a guinea pig.

For their engagement session, Jess, Brent, Renata and I hit up some sweet places in downtown Annapolis. It. Was. So. Fun. Jess and Brent were so relaxed and fearless - and they are so in love! They were so lost in each other that Renata and I were able to grab some fantastic, ooey-gooey shots :)

Here are some favorites (and there are a LOT of favorites!).

Renata grabbed this one - go, Renata!

*Speaking of Renata, I know she is a bit mysterious to you blog readers. I promise to spend adequate time addressing who Renata is very soon. For now, here's the short version. Renata is: one of my best friends, learning how to shoot, mother to Hayden, helping me not go insane on Saturday, the biggest servant's heart I've ever met.*

The whole gang
Here we all are :) (I know I have big teeth and gummy smile. Don't hate.)

Jessica and Brent, I am absolutely honored to be included in your special day. I can't wait!

Happy Valentine's Day to all!

Adrienne Joy :: Portraits

My sister-in-law Adrienne is one of the most talented performers I have ever known in real life. Not only is she a great singer and actress, she is also ridiculously sweet and absolutely gorgeous (plus, we share the same initials now :) ).

Adrienne just landed the lead in her high school's performance of Oklahoma! and is trying out a new venture - auditioning for her favorite Broadway composer, Jason Robert Brown. I was excited to do her headshots!

Adrienne
Gorgeous, right?

Be on the look out for this girl - oh, she's going places!

Kaley & Nick :: Engagement

They met their freshmen year of high school on a weekend ski trip. Now, eight years later, Kaley and Nick are finally getting married!

I've had so much fun hanging out with these two the past week. Kaley was my roommate sophomore year of college. I love her to death. She loves all things pink, Nickel Creek, non-fake people and of course, Nick. Nick is such an easy guy to get along with. He is growing his facial hair until their wedding day. :)

For their engagement session, we braved the cold (it was so cold) and Naval Academy authority (way to go Nick!). They were a ton of fun and willing to try anything.
